Uniting our community around highly curated, quality events, and education programs to encourage people to connect, share ideas and learn from each other.

In 2018 we had over 1800 people pay to attend over 40+ different events we can across Australia. The result of these events saw over $5M invested into early stage tech, 1000’s of great connections made and lessons of success and failure shared.  We also ran the largest tech VC conference in Australia/NZ, had over 850 founders apply to pitch at our founder dinners and launched an education program to help founders find smart money.  Wait, we also recorded and broadcast over 40 podcasts with some amazing people doing incredible things.

Current Opportunities

Community Manager

Innovation Bay is seeking to hire a Community Manager to join our growing team.  This role will sit at the epicentre of our national community fostering connections and developing a sense of belonging for our 3500+ members.

Working with our existing team the Community Manager will support our existing event series, whilst building our online community driving real-life connections, encouraging members to share experiences and network, ultimately cultivating an active and healthy national ecosystem of tech founders, investors, and connectors.

We see the primary responsibilities of this role as building and managing Australia’s most vibrant and active online community of founders, investors and connectors.  In order to achieve this we need someone who can;

  • Develop a community content plan that sparks conversations and creates connections among community members
  • Growing our online membership traffic by migrating our existing event based membership to an online community platform
  • Moderate our online community platform; respond to comments and requests, build relationships with the community and encourage engagement
  • Coordinate and plan the marketing and communications of events and activities
  • Help our membership participate more actively in our events and online platform
  • Create original content that brings our community together
  • Utilise surveys and direct conversations to engage with our network to constantly understand what values is for them, helping us improve our platforms and approach

To be successful in this role you will need to;

  • Be a team player
  • Have a passion for working with founders and helping people
  • Experience planning and leading community building initiatives
  • Extensive experience using social media tools
  • Knowledge of social and email marketing best practices
  • Ability to identify, track, and analyse relevant community KPIs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of online community platforms and CMS systems
  • Experience in developing visual content in platforms such as Canva and Photoshop
