To mark Innovation Bay’s launch in Brisbane, we’ve invited one of Queensland’s most successful entrepreneurs to join us over breakfast for our first event of 2019!
Grab your tickets to hear from Andrew Barnes, the CEO and cofounder of Ed-tech corporate learning startup Go1, which was recently named as one of the winners of Westpac’s Top 20 Australian “Businesses of Tomorrow”and listed by LinkedIn as one of the Top 25 Sought-After Startups in Australia.
Launching mid-2015 after completing Silicon Valley’s YCombinator program, Go1 raised an initial seed round of $1MUSD attracting a number of investors including Shark Tank investor/entrepreneur, Steve Baxter. Steve also invested in Go1’s pre-Series A round along with big name VC’s including Blue Sky Ventures and Tank Stream Ventures. Last year, Go1 then closed a $10M Series A round led by Seek. In the span of three years Go1 achieved a growth of more than 1 million users of their training program, expanding over 350 companies worldwide.
This is your chance to learn from a local founder that’s been able to conquer the global market, and hear from some of the advice and tips Andrew followed in the early years which helped propel Go1 to become of Australia’s roaring successes.
About the event hosts:
Tudor Marsden-Huggins: “After over 20 years being involved in startups in Queensland, I am very excited to be bringing Innovation Bay’s events, content and national network to Queensland.”
Ian Gardiner: “2018’s Startup Muster report highlighted Brisbane (and the State of QLD) as Australia’s second largest city for founders to be based. With a booming community, home to a plethora of successful startups including Go1, Simple, and SafetyCulture to name a few – it makes sense for us to officially launch Innovation Bay in Brissy and we’re stoked to have the amazing Tudor Marsden-Huggins on board as our local ambassador.”
