Our next Melbourne breakfast is not one to miss! We’re thrilled to be hosting Susan Wu – prominent startup investor and entrepreneur who has helped the success of many high growth startups, including Square, reddit, Medium/Obvious, Canva, Color Genomics, Twitter, Notion, and others.
Susan has spent her career building high growth, scaleable software infrastructure that have reached billions of people worldwide. She is currently investing in and building new systems in AI, IoT, AR/VR & Space, as both an angel investor and a Venture Partner at a Silicon Valley fund.
Aside from investing, Susan is a co-founder of Luminaria, which looks to provide children with a new sort of school and education model focused on resilience, flexibility, and preparing students for an unpredictable and changing future. The first Luminaria school, Lumineer Academy, is a primary school in Williamstown that serves 125 children from Prep to Year 6. Susan is also a co-founder of Project Include, a non-profit group focused on accelerating diversity and inclusion solutions in tech.
As one of the earliest employees of Stripe, Susan helped grow the company from 30 employees in two countries, to over 1500 employees in a dozen. Susan helped launch Stripe’s go-to-market playbook from Europe to APAC — which included spearheading key anchor partner relationships, defining product roadmaps, and building international sales and support teams. She also launched Stripe in Australia/New Zealand, driving growth from $0 to $1B+ within its first 12 months.
Fast Company named Susan as one of the “100 Most Creative People in Business” and “Most Influential Women in Technology.” She was named by the San Jose Mercury News as one of the “10 Most Influential People in Silicon Valley.
