Baraja’s technology is helping to make the future of fully-autonomous vehicles a reality. CEO Federico Collarte along with CTO Cibby Pulikkaseril began their work on a breakthrough LiDAR technology back in 2015 from Federico’s Sydney garage and have since developed an elegant Spectrum-Scan LiDAR solution that enables safer autonomous driving.
Just earlier this year, Baraja raised a huge Series A round of $32USD ($45M) led by Sequoia China and Main Sequence Ventures’ CSIRO Innovation Fund with BlackBird Ventures investing as well. The company has since grown their Sydney headquarters as well as offices in San Francisco and Shanghai, and hope to expand their team from 93 employees to 200.
Previous to this, Federico worked in the optical instrumentation group at Finisar Australia, itself a rare example of a successful local hardware company, having been bought by what is now Finisar’s US business for $43 million in 2006.
We hope you can join us for an evening of indepth and lively conversation with Federico in the company of other founders and leaders in the tech ecosystem.
