Description

Goterra is a Canberra based Ag-Tech startup designing and building modular robotic infrastructure that uses insects to manage food waste. With support from high profile impact investors, we are building our business to deliver innovative waste systems to markets on a global scale. Expressions of interest are sought for upcoming Farm and Livestock Hand positions in our insect farming production team. Farm and Livestock Hand duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in performing insect husbandry tasks
  • Perform Organic Frass and Live Insect separation using both mechanical and physical methods
  • Clean and maintain production facilities and equipment (separators , dryers, husbandry rooms by dusting, washing down, scrubbing etc)
  • Maintaining PPE and operational clothing using onsite cleaning equipment
  • Informing management of occurring deficiencies or needs for equipment repairs
  • Assist in stocking and maintaining supply rooms
  • Following all work health and safety regulations

Role-specific requirements:

  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, e.g. some lifting up to 10kgs, being on your feet for the duration of the shift
  • Digital literacy skills – a Smartphone is required to communicate with team members and for managing tasks through the applications Slack and Asana
  • No tertiary qualifications are required, however previous experience within a Farming/Manufacturing environment will be highly regarded

This position follows a 4 day on/4 day off roster and some weekend work is required
