Since we launched in 2014, we have grown a massive network of 32k+ hospitality venues in Australia – including your favourite cafes, restaurants and bars – ordering from over 600 local suppliers. We have two core products that will need your design stewardship:

  1. A web app for suppliers to manage their orders, payments, products and customers

The Product Designer will be responsible for creating delightful experiences and thoughtful interfaces across Ordermentum’s supplier and venue apps (mobile + web). Working closely with the Product team and wider organisation, they will develop a deep understanding of customer needs, in order to deliver the right design assets for build.

We care a lot about doing product design well, and collaboratively. Some of the great design practices we have put in place over the last couple of years include:

  • A consistent, evolving design system in Figma with native patterns
  • Design QA – for design/development teams to get pixel-perfect experiences to customers
  • A research repository in Notion with customer interviews and usability test recordings
  • <your next brilliant idea here>

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Product Design for web and mobile apps, be excited about learning and contributing to product strategy, advocate for the power and value of design, and collaborate closely with a variety of teams to get the best customer outcomes.

What you’ll do

  • Design delightful product experiences on mobile and web apps, that solve customer needs and deliver on the broader product vision and business strategy
  • Work with product and engineering teams to help make these experiences a reality in an agile development environment, and work with marketing, success and growth teams to drive adoption. Be comfortable with producing iterative designs, incorporating fast feedback and insights from customers and stakeholders
  • Lead on efficient and effective product design practices, including growing and evolving our design system, developer collaboration, and customer research and testing

What you’ll have

  • A portfolio of work that showcases clean, creative design and a thorough, thoughtful design process that can solve problems for our customers through mobile and web products
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability and conceptual thinking. Thrive in a hypothesis-based environment and able to frame strategic challenges from a digital/tech/design perspective
  • Experience across the end-to-end design process—from research (quantitative and qualitative), blue-sky exploration and design iteration, through to product development and deployment
  • Technical expertise: Able to collaborate effectively with agile development teams to balance customer value with feasibility assessments
  • Excellent communication, presentation and collaboration skills, without fear of over-communication
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organised, able to manage multiple concurrent projects towards meeting deadlines
  • Proven experience testing and validating ideas early in the process with customers and internal stakeholders, with a natural focus on what is usable, feasible and valuable
  • Fluency in working with state-of-the-art UI and prototyping tools (we are big fans of Figma for both)

Nice to have

  • Passionate about the food, coffee or hospitality space in general. Expert knowledge in the hospitality industry will be a welcome addition
  • Experience designing SaaS software for business users, or in finance, accounting or payments space
